That Time I Made a Banana Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownies

So I made this brownie to make a Trifle (a cold dessert of sponge cake and fruit covered with layers of custard, jelly, and cream) for a special couple friend of mine (well, I only knew the guy) on Val’s Day. I wanted something quick, easy and that will taste well with any flavor of ice cream. Sadly, I took an ugly pic of the Trifle.

So three ingredients: Banana, Cocoa powder and Peanut butter. Yep, That’s all no eggs, no butter, just those three base ingredients. You can spin it up and add other ingredients like coconut shavings, dried grapes, nuts, rum, flavoring, *042*, jam/jelly, etc.

TEQUILA!

For this, I used Chocolate flavored Tequila. The peanut butter replaces the butter, the banana somewhat replaces the egg and sugar and the cocoa powder replaces the flour. If it’s not sweet enough, the best option is brown sugar. Liquid flavors like vanilla essence is also great.

Ingredients

  • 5 Ripe Bananas
  • Peanut Butter (400 ml or 1 1/2 Cup)
  • Unsweetened Cocoa powder (1 cup)
  • Salt (a pinch)
  • Optional Ingredient

Directions

  1. Preheat(ALWAYS!) oven to 200°C.
  2. Lay the pan with baking paper or alternatively, just use a greased baking pan.
  3. If you have a food processor, it makes everything easy. First, you need to mash the bananas.
  4. Add the peanut butter, blend/mix then add the cocoa powder and blend/mix.
  5. This is the part where you add other the extra ingredients. You can also add Baking Powder to make the brownie a bit airy.
  6. Pour into the baking pan and let it sit for about 5 minutes before putting into the oven
  7. Bake till for 40 minutes or you can find out it’s done when you put a toothpick in the brownie and it comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool
